I’ve started some research into the key characteristics for successful partnership working, and I am interviewing “key persons of influence” from the partnerships I was involved in when I worked at Walsall Council in combatting crime and disorder.
Its early days in my research, but the importance of shared visions and values, and the relationships that flow from trust and confidence are high in terms of importance and for effective partnership outcomes.
Its not “all about the money”, partnership working goes deeper.
But there is also an element of how comfortable the “leaders” of the different agencies are with letting go of control and sharing power, enabling inclusion of all interests with the end of improving service delivery in mind.
I’ve worked with some great leaders, who were comfortable about sharing, and we achieved some great results.
